Joy of Inspiration - Share the Joy

The theme that last week was being inspired and "Sisterhood is Power". On Monday, September 25th, my dear friend Lisa from First Mummies Club and I headed to the Mums Enterprise Roadshow. This was the 4th Mums Enterprise Roadshow and first time in London. I signed up last May 2017 when I thinking about how in September I needed to focus on looking for ways to make additional income. I was thrilled when my friend Lisa told me that she was also going to this event also. The Mums Enterprise Roadshow is a "child-friendly work and business exhibitions helping mums on a mission whether that be retraining, finding flexible work, starting up or growing a business." I attended this show to learning more about other mother entrepreneurs' business journey and be inspired to take some of my personal projects to the next step.
I spent most of the day sitting in informative workshops. One of my favourite sessions were the "Marketing Made Easy" with Nicola Huelin founder of mPower Mastermind Groups who "mission is to empower one million mums to help them build a successful business around the family life they love!"

It made the day extra special when we ran into Sunita from Lucky Things blog. I had the pleasure of meeting her earlier in the year at Blogtacular and it was wonderful to catch up what she was currently working on. She is busy planning more social and networking events called Lucky Thing Meet Ups. We had a good laugh together.

My 2nd inspired event this week in London was BritMums Live 2017.  I volunteered to be a Room Monitor in one of the rooms in BritMums Live this year. I was not planning on attending but the opportunity to receive a last minute ticket was too tempting. I had the pleasure of being in the County Room where four sessions took place during the day. I listen to some of my favourite bloggers talk about what they are working on and received some great advice from YouTube Mums. The greatest lesson that I learned during the day was that everyone gets nervous talking in front of a group of people but you can't let it stop you. Honestly, all the speakers were so friendly and a joy to meet.

These are the session that helped to monitor:

Trailblazers - Katie from Mummy Daddy Me; Emily from A Mummy Too; Vicky from Honest Mum and Matt from Man vs Baby; Panel Moderator: Susan from Best Bits Worldwide

Creations - Jennie Maizels, Founder of the Sketchbook Club; Rich from Paperboyo (Instagram); and Sean from Bryne Photography

Not-So-Secret-Life of a YouTube Mum - Ciara from My Fuzzy Eater; Emma from Brummy Mummy; and Louise from Sprinkles with Glitter; Moderator: Helen from Actually Mummy

  1. Wow, what a busy week you had Christina! And what wonderfully inspiring events they both sound like - I haven't been to BML since 2015 (which was my 4th BML) and I do really miss seeing everybody! Well done you for putting yourself forward to be a Room Monitor :) #sharethejoylinky

  2. It's so nice to be inspired by like-minded people (or actually anyone because we can learn so much that we didn't on learning from anyone!). While it's lovely to interact online, it's just as nice to do in real life. I've yet to go to a blogging conference or meet up but I will! #sharethejoylinky
